Our Foster Care Programme encourages community participation to care for Alley Katz Australia®Org. rescues and participation in the adoption process. Foster care involves reaching an agreement between the foster carer and Alley Katz Australia Org. which covers the terms and conditions of the foster care to be undertaken. We do not operate a shelter for the public surrender of cats.
We are looking for foster carers that can look after a range of cats with different personalities, physical attributes and behaviours ranging from kittens, through to older cats.
We ask that foster carers generally cover the daily food and lodging costs of the cat and Alley Katz Australia Org. covers the cat's regular and emergency medical expenses.
Foster carers should ideally be located within 40Km of Melbourne CBD and be able to provide a comfortable and non-threatening environment indoors with access to natural daylight, bedding and play facilities. Friendly contact with carers and their family is essential as is adherance to good hygiene practices.
